“One Step at a Time” by Jordan Sparks was the main song during the competition.  The ladies rehearsed and danced to it for hours so I thought it was appropriate for the video.

Good Time in Vegas

To say that I’m tired would be an understatement — I’ve walked more than I care and stood longer than my legs and back were accustom to. My body didn’t want to sleep because of all the excitement (and muscle soreness) and it refused to sleep past 6am PST because it would have been 9am back home. But am I complaining? Not at all. I’m thrilled to have made the trip to Las Vegas to photograph the 2010 Mrs/Ms Earth International Pageant.

Earth and Concrete Hallway

Last week Maria and I had planned a photo session at the dock near Boathouse at Sunday Park to show off her Mrs. Earth Virginia sash.  I honestly thought a title like Mrs. “Earth” would come with some divined privileges with Mother Nature.  Needless to say, a sudden severe thunderstorm threw a pretty big monkey wrench in our plan.  We needed Plan B ASAP!!

The War of Art

I recently picked up a copy of “The War of Art” by Steve Pressfield after learning about it at a technical lecture.  The premise of the book is about Resistance  with a capital R.  The book talks about how Resistance manifests itself in various forms ranging from procrastination to fear.  I am not much of a book reviewer but I will say this much — if you have a passion and you’ve yet to live out that passion, you owe yourself to read this book.   (more…)
